Topic: Christmas Blend Swap 2007 (29 msgs / 672 lines)
1) From: Denis and Marjorie True
Hi all,
***Disclaimer*** I got permission before posting
On Home Roasters.org I set up a Christmas Blend Swap here is how it works
1.) I was thinking if every one will just put a post in this thread if
your are playing I will take all the names from the posts on December
20th and pair them up and then you and your exchanger can swap addresses.
2.) Roast up a pound of your Christmas 2007 blend (or what ever you are
calling your Christmas blend-if you don't have a blend make one, a SO
blend is always good too!)
3.) send your coffee to your paring and they will send you yours..(all
please remember this is Christmas/holiday~~~~ so I know last year I
raided the ships store to include a few "stocking stuffers" with my
coffee this is not required but I know that My paring loved my gift.....
4.) watch your mail for your coffee
5.) grind
6.) brew
7.) enjoy and make sure to thank your paring for their WONDERFUL coffee
any takers?
here is the link.....http://www.homeroasters.org/php/forum/viewthread.php?forum_id!&thread_ids7

Thanks for the Plug Eddie!!!
We are up to 15 people so far.
I will draw the names in pairs on the 20th and post both here and on the
HomeRoasters thread that evening so if you have your name in get your
coffee ready to go and as soon as I post your "swap buddy" contact them
off list and swap addresses and get your coffee out to them!
Don't worry about if you get your coffee a bit late due to holiday plans
I'm sure everyone on here understands and you and your pairing can
disscuss that by email.

Watch out- Mike H says he's new at this...
Every time I've brewed some of the glorious blend he sent me, from Steinway,
F. press to Americano, it has been a dazzling revelation.
I do it differently and I get more flavors. Like Dukas' Sorcerer's
Apprentice, it just keeps coming on!
This has been a real education at at perfecting the brewing style to accent
different qualities.
Mike's blend is Huge- maybe I'll do a Steinway mugging and take notes, but
for now, it's just thoroughly enjoyable. It will be like taking notes at a
concert!
Cheers, Mabuhay -RayO, aka Opa!
How sweet it is!

My swap coffee just arrived, and I'm drinking a wonderful cup of
Guatemala Antigua La Flor Del Cafe, thanks to Russ. Sweet, rich, and
delicious! Also in the box were 3 bottles of homebrew, a Scottish Ale,
a Bock, and a Harvest Ale with homegrown hops. I'm looking forward to
those!
WOW! Homeroast and homebrew, it doesn't get any better than that!
Thanks for putting this together Denis.

Thanks Russ,

Night before last, we received Lisabeeen's coffee. The next morning
it was brewed and taken to the office ... then I had meetings all day
... office vultures got all of it!
No vultures here at the house ... notes of berry (possibly Sidamo?),
hints of refinement (a la Sulawesi?) and a nice, albeit slight peppery
note. Of course, I could be totally off given that I have some sort
of crud that is going around, but there is no mistaking the light
oiliness that feels great on my throat!
Thank you, Lisa!!! Thank you, Dennis!!!
