For those who still believe DP coffees inherently have more chaff than =
WP
coffees rather than primarily a milling issue think again. Guatemala - =
Finca
San José Ocaña, a WP coffee, quite possibly has the most chaff of =
any bean
varietal I've ever roasted in 7 years roasting.
CCR HT maxed out size 330gr batches 5&6 of 10 now going in to yield 6# =
Guat'
post roast, what could have should have been ONE max size batch in our =
will
have it one of these days Shop roaster:-( Then on to roasting some =
Sumatra
and Kenya and Columbia. (This is what I'll be doing all day into the =
night
on my first "day off" from going in to the Kafe since 10/31:-) El Sal', =
IMV
and Decaf probably tomorrow before and after going in to do some more =
back
end remodeling.
Of course most mornings before going in and evenings after leaving doing
roasting too. But "got lazy" yesterday and didn't roast before going in =
and
only did 6 batches last night after being at the Kafe from 5:30am to =
6:30pm,
last batches out at 10pm:-) The price one pays to NOT have to use =
someone
else's roasts NO MATTER WHAT! And fortunately (or unfortunately:-) whole
bean sales are starting to pick-up as people try mcKona Koffee =
offerings.
And of course supply Kafe use demands.
Have had many wishes of "Good Luck". Luck has little or nothing to do =
with
success IMO. Luck is when preparation, hard work and opportunity meet. =
The
most successful people over the Ages are most often simply people =
willing to
do what other people are unwilling to do. And I'll be the first to admit
that currently extra hard work is being required do to some lack of =
enough
planning and preparation on our part! A big one the Shop Roaster should =
have
been ordered 6 months not 3 months ago!
Ah, the musical sounds of 1st crack from the pretty much ignored =
computer
controlled HT roasts! (Won't be no 2nd's, this be Bourbon Guat' we be
dealing with, roasting to EOF 436f:-)

Your comments (always interesting!) remind me of an interview with
golf great Sam Snead. He was asked how much luck was involved in his
game. He replied that luck plays a hand in everyone's game, but he
found the more he practiced, the luckier he got!
