Hey, all. It has been some time. I have been on an experimental
medicine for the last two weeks and have another week to go. One of
the many side effects has been it has turned my taste buds into what
feels like metal detectors. Everything tastes like metal, especially
coffee. Now, I did get two roasts in for company, but I can't taste
it. It is so frustrating.
I haven't even pulled out my new Behmore because I don't want my
first experience to be one of such a let down. The docs say the
effects of this will go away fast, so as I wrap up on Monday, I
should have taste buds working normally by next week. I plan on
doing a lot of roasting. Working to learn the Behmore, still using
the I-Roast, which I love so much, and making coffee I can
enjoy. The Behmore has me both excited and nervous at once. It
seems more intimidating than the I-Roast did, but I have gotten great
advice and suggestions and all should work out if I read the
instructions, the notes here and common sense.
I have been traveling a good bit, so it is very nice to be back with
no travel until we head to our house in Costa Rica on January 13,
can't wait. I am taking coffee to the guy who owns the shop where I
got interested in this. I hope to know the Behmore my then and
really do a nice roast, but I may do a roast with the IR2 as a back up!
That's it, just have missed people here and coffee, coffee, coffee!!!
