This brings to mind the expression, "Are you gonna believe me, or your lyin' eyes?" I have the Vacu vin(w/canister) and have been using it for at least a year. It seems to vary as to how long it can hold a vacuum. I've had it lose it in a couple of hours and I've had it hold for a week. I know there's still a vacuum because it makes that "woosh" sound when I pinch the stopper together. Perhaps the model for the wine bottles doesn't work as well because of the seal, or lack thereof, but the canister model works as advertised. A tip: Sometimes it helps to make sure no grounds have gotten on the rubber seal. I usually wipe the seal and the interior of the canister with a dampened paper towel before I draw the air out..
