sick, my son having surgery, and having 18 people for Christmas and cooking
31 pounds of meat into spaghetti and meatballs and then after the family had
their fill yesterday, using the rest to make 17 pans of lasagna and 5 bags
of meatballs and sauce and then cleaning it all up. I'm always glad I did it
when I take one of those pans of lasagna from the freezer in March, but it
just about kills me on December 26. We've been so busy, we're down to only
enough beans for 2 pots of coffee and then we're out. Tomorrow, Dan will be
roasting in the snow. We woke up to 7 inches this am and ended up with a
total of 8 inches this pm and 10-15 more expected tomorrow. We spent the
early evening sledding down our driveway with the grandkids. Just getting
them bundled in long johns, wool socks, pants, 2 shirts, coats and rain gear
tired us out. But, then we made a pot of coffee. I usually never adulterate
my brew, but added dark hot chocolate mix, topped it with whipped cream and
red sugar in a snowman cup, drank it outside and really enjoyed it.
It's so nice to be back on the list...it's helps me wind down.
Happy Holidays to all.
