I totally agree with Bob. I've loved the full flavor of French press for =
years and found the Swiss Gold press filter helped reduce sediment. =
Still murky at the bottom of the cup though not as bad. Got the Bodum =
Santos Electric (Starbucks Utopia version) for Christmas. Great full =
flavored cup with even less sediment than our Krup's Drip with Swiss =
Gold filter. The electric vac is about as easy to use as a drip so it'll =
be our lazy not quite awake yet early morning work day method now =
instead of drip! By the by, the Starbucks Utopia Electric Vac Brewer =
(made by Bodum for them) is on sale for $99.90 until 1/6/02... =
"Charbucks" is good for something after all!
By the way, anyone want the 1/2# of Starbucks Christmas Blend whole bean =
that came with the Utopia? (oh no, I guess I am a coffee snob!)

Many of us have used the vac pot with cloth filter to get the taste of =
the French press without the sediment. I've used the Hario and *$ =
Utopia (Bodum Santos electric) and had great results.

    Ken, Mary,
Ive tried the french presses, too much sediment and the coffee is =
overpowering. However, could be user error as is w/ my HWP. Ive poured =
more coffee down the sink then i care to remember since buying the HWP. =
I'm going to get me a hand grinder and see if that helps. If not then =
ill have to reevaluate. thx for the help.

And... if you make friends with one of the workers, er "partners", you
might be able to get them to use their 40% partner's discount for you. I
bought 2 for friends, and the young man offered his discount to me. I paid
$129 for both of them....
Ciao,
Angelo

Hey! They didn't give me that.... (no I don't want it).
Think it's 'cause I got the extra 40% off?

Great deal. Should have picked up 10 or so and resold them on eBay!
