Anyone else see this?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gb13iFRYIvAI've never had this stuff but I find it difficult to believe it could live up to all the hype. I wonder if what he got was real.
I received some as a gift - just a micro amount suitable for one cup... Tasted earthy, dirty, like a Sumatra often tastes.... Didn't much care for it, but love to pieces the gracious and wonderful gift from a dear friend! Ought to try it, see what you think... I've tasted Cat Poop Coffee also. What I got was very good coffee though certainly not worth the cost compared with some of the stellar Indo beans available from SM. It was fun to try and I can say I've had it. Probably won't buy any in the future. cheers, Scott On Jan 6, 2008 9:47 AM, Brett Mason wrote: <Snip>
If Tom ever runs across some and puts it up for sale, I might partake. Otherwise, I'm not sure I would know of a trustworthy source.
I was lucky enough to win some in a Tradition Offering, otherwise I would have never have tried it. I am *so* glad I didn't pay the going rate for it. Tasted like dirt from a damp basement, brewed in cardboard. Didn't care for it. On Jan 6, 2008 9:16 AM, Steve wrote: <Snip> -- Larry J
Herman's Boy Coffee is just 11 miles from me. It's a good shop, but then I have no reason to shop there anymore, although they are the biggest distributor of Scanpans in West Michigan. My brother's kids attend school in Rockford so maybe I can talk him into buying me a cup of the poo coffee... I'll let you know. This is a multi-part message in MIME format. I've had the real stuff and it's bad to mediocre at best. Mostly = robusta. The beans in the video looked too good. Maybe these cats are = being held captiveamong some arabica trees, I don't know. If you want = some greens given the digestive treatment, wait until Tom gets some more = of the Jacu Bird Brazilizn coffee. Pretty good stuff actually! PAUL CARDER
In my experience (twice) it doesn't live up to the hype at all... like a lot of coffees: JBM, generic Konas (that are usually a blend) etc, etc. It's disappointing that everybody seems to know about "that one cat poop coffee" but almost nobody knows about La Esmerelda (as far as customers that come into the shops I have worked at). Same thing with how everybody seems to know about FT but almost no one knows about direct trade... yay for the media. -bry Bryan Wray NaDean's Coffee Place Kalamazoo, MI "It is my hope that people realize that coffee is more than just a caffeine delivery service, it can be a culinary art"- Chris Owens of Cafe Grumpy in NYC. --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals?
