I have recently seen ads for a barista training video and book set. Has
anyone seen one of these and did it appear to be worthwhile? I have been
making espresso with a serious machine for about 2 years now and do a pretty
good job usually, but every time I watch a real pro or taste his or her
drinks, I learn something new and improve my results. The set runs $70 with
shipping and I would not want to spend that much if it only contains basic
information. I looked at some clips online and they seemed really basic.
If anyone has this set and would like to sell or rent it out at a good
price, I would be interested. I am sure that there are more than one
available but the one I have seen is from Espresso Online.
I know the proper way to learn is: PRACTICE, PRACTICE, and more PRACTICE,
but I can use all the help I can get.
I also ordered a pound of Black Cat to compare with my home blends.

Mike, I have the "Xtreme Pours" DVD put out by Bellisimo... it's a good DVD, but I didn't really learn anything new... except for the "Autumn leaf" which I still can't even come close to pulling off.
Next time we go out to "The Ugly" I'll hook ya up with it!

Bryan,
Did you get my off list email about the videos we talked about? I have =
a set for you if you send me your snail mail address.
I would be interested in seeing your DVD.
I just tried my first shot of Black Cat. I made a guess what temp to =
pull it at and got it right. You are right; that is a very tasty blend. =
This gives me a reference to compare my own blends to. I am doing OK, =
but I have a ways to go.
Do you remember what else was in the Cameroon Blend we had at UM? I =
would like to make a blend similar to that one.
