Topic: Behmor Roasting Profile and Fire (19 lines)

I too found that the Behmor "as advertised" in the weight amounts would
not roast to City/FC despite the add on minutes, barely into first
crack. The profile I came up with was 10 -12oz beans at 1 lb/ P2
setting; definitely watch and listen in order to hit cool sometime
after first crack. The 10-12 oz is arbitrary.....just to get the most
product out of a run. And YES, I had a couple of fire events too and
get a bit of comfort from being in good company. Since I was watching on
both occasions and the roasting is done in the basement, there was
minimal unpleasantness. However this is scary even when you are
there. Does the problem have something to do with the nature of the
chaff from particular beans? There seems to be a variable here.....some
chaffs are coarse and others are smaller flakes. I cannot remember
which beans were the igniters but should it happen again that
information will be noted. I suspect I was using the P1 setting but
that is mental smoke. Bottom line.....P2 is the sweet one.
Plant Report: My 30 inch plant is ripening 4 (!) berries and new growth
has started. Bernard
