Topic: Goo Goo Muck humor (4 msgs / 113 lines)

After reading a lot of Tom's cupping notes and trying to take in as much
as possible, I found great humor reading the notes attached to the
various "Thumbs Down" cuppings
http://www.sweetmarias.com/coffee.thumbs-down.html#sulawesiGooGooMuck).
Read past offerings - funny stuff there.
Tom, you're a better man than I, putting yourself in "harm's way" for
the benefit of the world, tasting coffees with a "fecal" flavor.
Nonetheless, it is very funny reading as well as educational. I laughed
my cakes off. The "Thumbs Down" reviews get a thumbs up!

I agree. I actually purchased a pound of the goo goo muck just to see how
bad it really is and to use it as a comparison to the truly wonderful
coffees that Tom & Maria offer. My shipment will be arriving on Thursday.
I can't wait !!!!!

Goo Goo much, actually, by our stands is horrid, by the average folgers
/ starbucks drinker, is purty durned good coffee!!
I have a friend who I have gotten into roasting here and from time to
time Ill come over and bring him several half used bags of mine. Ill do
a bag once, throw it into a growing pile, until I run out of new coffee
to roast, then start roasting the stuff left over in whatever order I
happen to pick it out at.... anyways...... I grab about 6 or 7 bags
and bring them to him on occasion. He calls me on the phone and says
hey Aaron, what origin is goo goo muck? I said WHAT!! he said,
yesterday I roasted up that goo goo muck you gave me and mom (a hard
core folgers fanatic)ran out of coffee so made a pot with it and thinks
its the best coffee she ever tasted and wants to know what country it's
from. It then dawns on me that, oh ick, I ordered that way back when I
was testing a new roaster I built and didnt want to waste good beans on
the comissioning run on the roaster.. I didn't have the heart to tell
him, umm sorry, I gave you the sewer beans bud,... but mom LOVED EM!!!!
So I just kind of muttered, I believe they are a viet namiese delicacy
bean and let it slide into another topic....
One's goo goo much is anothers gooood coffee!!
Aaron who will read the labels next time he decides to donate beans.

Be sure to let them rest a couple days. Given Some of Tom's
descriptions, you may want to let them de-gas in the bathroom.
Let us know how your tasting goes.
