Was roasting the last of my Kenya Ruiri peaberry this morn in the iRoast2 o=

the kitchen counter with the vent hose out the window--about -12F
outside----just hit the cool button and went to get something and then hear=
d
this horrendous crash---darn thing vibrated right of the counter and crashe=
d
to the floor..
the power unit seems ok but looks like will have to spend about 60bucks
replacing parts----at least got enuf different beans roasted for a week or
so
Think the next cup need a touch of whiskey

Another reason not to turn your back -- I had my first chaff fire while
roasting last Sunday.  I use an SC/TO setup with some folded window
screening to catch the chaff as it blows out through an opening in the
aluminum band supporting the TO.  I had stepped across the basement to get
something out of the workshop.  When I turned to go back to the roaster,
the smoke looked different than usual.  That's when I noticed the
smoldering chaff in the screen.  I managed to keep it in the chaff catcher
but it burned the side of my Stir Crazy.
