Topic: paper cups, was coffee dogs (2 msgs / 25 lines)

FWIW, I was traveling week before last and got sidetracked by a family
emergency that extended my trip. I hadn't planned for the extra days in my
coffee supply. As a result, I had a couple of cups while out and about. They
were all in compostable paper cups. The coffee was bad enough, but I swear
those biodegradable cups were worse than your run-of-the-mill paper cup.
Blech.

I don't know the mechanism by which these cups degrade, but hot coffee
is pretty harsh to a container, especially one designed to break down,
I'd think. I wonder what they do to get around it, or if they care
(especially with bad coffee like that)
