Brew range per mfg. minimum 20oz, max 48oz stated. The smallest I've =
brewed is 24oz water using 1oz beans (2 twelve oz mugs.) Fine drip grind =
range with Solis Maestro. I've also brewed 36 & 48oz pots. Full pots =
tend to brew a bit longer than 24oz and hence a better cup IMO. Takes =
longer for all the water to rise, longer to go back down. What I've been =
doing is playing with grind fineness to slow the down cycle a hair. I've =
used 7g per 6oz water for quite some time (1oz/24oz) but will probably =
increase slightly for 24oz... Plus the small amount of water left =
downstairs in all Vac pots contributes to the difference in smaller =
batches...
All in all I'm still pleased with the Utopia/eSantos. It is easier than =
F.P. with less sledge and full flavor oils coming through...
That is the BIG advantage of French Press. I can make a 12oz pot exactly =
the same as a 32oz using the exact same bean to water ratio. We all know =
the dissadvantages of F.P... lots more sludge than other methods. Though =
I don't really mind it, been drinking FP for so many years I guess!
