Just returned from a 4 day whirlwind trip to Costa Rica where we
cupped 68 micro-mill coffees from tiny boutique producers, and
visited about 25 of the small family farms. Amazing results ... am
really looking forward to the arrivals of these coffees (most are in
the "reposo" stage, resting in parchment for 30-60 days after sun
drying. So the earliest lots will be coming early April. What is also
great is total transparency, where we can give them "farm gate"
pricing to ensure that the money isnt eatne up in the exportation,
transport and importation costs.
I will have some pictures and comments on this trip later today. In
the meantime, I sure hope you all keep up and post comments on the 2
weblogs. Josh is writing most of the posts on the new roastmaster
blog and putting a lot of time in it. We are trying to share what we
learn, and our process on the weekly roasting, and would appreciate
comments from those who taste the coffees!http://www.sweetmarias.com/weblog/http://www.sweetmariascoffee.com/roastmaster_blog/
