Topic: Vacuum packing green beans (2 msgs / 47 lines)

Hello and cheers to all!
First time poster here, sort-of testing..
Single homeroaster/drinker; utilize the Poppery Tank.. at high success
rate.. (after burning up just one.. thus far)
Curious if y'all save your beans- Vacuum packed?.. seems to go against
conventional wisdom.. but I've done it and years later.. not sure I can tell
much difference. Utilized mason jars and Foodsaver to save some Kenyan's in
past.
What's been your experience? Looking at mostly cost/savings on volume buys
both here at SM's and others!
Thanks! G

For volume buys, consider Sweet Maria's 15% discount on the 20lb price when
3 bags are purchased... This will get you price per pound down quite a
bit...
I can't keep coffee around very long anyway,so I don't vac&seal. Mike and
others do, and offer good reports on the process...
Others seem to like Starbucks, who sells their old beans vac-sealed to
protect the freshness of the char...
