Topic: Kopi Luwak-two cents worth (17 lines)
1) From: Bernard Gerrard
A coffee anecdote. I tasted Kopi Luwak several years ago, BHR, (Before
Home Roasting) at a birthday celebration for a Jamaican friend who
thinks the sun rises and sets on JBM and who receives regular shipments
from the Island.. The Kopi Luwak was a clever joke directed at this
serious obsession and it was much anticipated by the perpetrator. She
liked it and thought it better than the JBM! My take was that it was
full tasting and wine-y. As is pointed out, the Civet kittys eat what
they find and want so presumably the resulting deposits are variable.
Who knows what the next crop will be like......and who cares at that
price? As for JBM; yes, it is smooth and mild, fine if it is free but
again, not at that price. Bernard
