So in the Sweet Maria sampler pack is a Sumatra Organic Aceh District. It =
supposedly has tobacco tones...
This is very intriguing as a 4month quitter, it would be wonderful to repla=
ce that lost flavor with a cup of joe.... =
Any particular beans excel at a tobacco flavor?
Thanks,
Ken

deemed good enough by Tom to carry, but gifted to me by a good
friend/coworker) has a mild, lingering tobacco flavor. I found it
interesting, but I'm not a smoker...would have preferred a lingering
chocolate flavor. ;-)

I just got an order that includes Bali Kintamani Arabica. I've never tried
it, the description includes "Pungent tobacco notes."

I would 2nd both the Bali and the Tree-dried. The Bali was more
pronounced. As for not being a smoker, neither a I (and hate the
things and habit) but I don't find tobacco flavor a tobacco smoke
flavor. More like the raw leaf. I rather enjoy it and put it in the
same class as "leather".

A recent Sumatra Blue Batak batch I roasted to FC+ had big tobacco =
flavors in the fore of the hot cup. By comparison, the lighter roast I =
followed it with did not have much tobacco at all.

YES, I notice it in JBM as it gets cold. The cooler the coffee the more
Tobacco. I drink it as a SO espresso. My sample bag was wonderful. I
sure hope we get it in to the good OLS USA.

Ken,
I agree with the others that you'll get the most tobacco bang for your buck
out of the India Mallali Estate Tree-Dried Natural. I also get a lot of
tobacco out of SMs Liquid Amber Blend (I use it in a moka pot). The Yemen
Mokha Haimi also has hints of tobacco at FC, though I don't know if it's
available anymore. There's also tobacco in the India Anokhi Liberica,
especially the longer it rests (though there's so much else going on with
the Liberica at the same time!)
Best,
Kris McN

Yes, the Bali has some fairly strong tobacco notes; very pleasing!
I often find tobacco in Guatemalans: Antigua and Coban are the regions that
come to mind without looking at notes.
cheers,
Scott
