hi all-
I talked a colleague at a conference into trying home roasting.
Unfortunately he's having a hard time finding a popper. anyone know of
a new model currently available that has the right vents? apparently
they don't make the $10 toastmaster that I started with. He's been
looking at the thrift stores w/o any luck.
thanks.

eBay. Just checked "air popper" and saw more than a half dozen poppers
available.

Walgreen's has a suitable popper, found one for $10 on sale about a year
ago.

I have one of the Walgreens kitchen gourmet poppers-- easy to modify to
separate the fan from the heater. Works for me, and often has a coupon
so that the price is about $7.

If you are in a fix and can't find one, I have some extras in the garage. I
could pick you out a 1200 Watt unit with slotted bottom vents for about
$3.50 plus shipping. Might have a hole drilled for thermometer or have
thermostat by-passed...or not.
There was a time when I bought every one I saw. I've settled down to using
the same one all the time now unless I need to do a lot or want more
complexity...then I use either the Whirleypop or HG/BM.

Thanks for all the responses. The guy who is looking is just starting in
roasting and seems to be having issues finding a popper. I have passed on
the KG information to him. I even offered to swap my aged toastmaster with
him if he ordered one and it was the wrong style.
