Topic: OT: Misha (32 lines)
1) From: Sandy Andina
I had a black kitty named Misha (nicknamed MishMosh) who died suddenly
of cardiomyopathy (undiagnosed because he showed no symptoms) less
than a month shy of his eighth birthday in 2005. (We had him
cremated--all of our deceased cats were, as they were strictly indoor
kitties and we didn't want to leave them behind in backyard graves
should we ever have to move. His ashes rest inside a hollowed-out
statue of the Egyptian cat goddess Bastet, which looks like him). He
was amazing--he would greet visitors he liked by leaping onto their
shoulders and purring (and those he didn't like by hissing and
nipping); he also loved to ride atop the vacuum cleaner and in the
laundry basket and play "make-the-bed" by diving under the duvet
whenever we would flap it. Since he was a single survivor of an
abandoned litter, he was hand-fed from a doll bottle and eyedropper;
consequently, instead of blissing out by kneading, he would pretend-
suckle by bitelessly gnawing on noses, fingers, and the web between my
thumb and forefinger. He loved to catch Q-Tips and paper bathroom cups
by leaping midair from his "bunker" in the bathtub. I still miss him
so much!
