Just a thank-you shout out to the list. THANKS! Here's a few of the
wonderful things I've learned in a few months:
Rest might be good for the complexity of your coffee.
Pre-heat your French Press (I laughed when I read that, but what great
advice!)
Increase the amount of coffee used in my French Press (went from 20 to 30 g
in my 16oz, and really can taste the flavors!)
Play with the way that heat is added to a roast and keep experimenting!
Thermometers can be fun.
Don't pour water into your grinder. It's not a brewing system.
And many more things! Thanks to all, I've really enjoyed the last 4 months!

geat note especially >>>Don't pour water into your grinder. It's not a brewing system. <<<
the other morning I dumped water into the bean section of my solis 5K, was I mad or what!!!
ginny
took a bit of time and my shop vac to get the beans and water out, then take the bean holder off and use a hair dryer, I waited a bit, ground up some rice a couple of times before I pulled a toss away shot, next cafe crema was super!!

Gin,
I have made similar errors before my first coffee in the am. Now I always
splash cold water in my face before I even get any where near the kitchen.
Cheers,

It's a shame that you have to make the first cup of coffee without the
benefits of having already drunk a cup of coffee...

Seth,
 - it's a cruel cycle. The way to minimize the effects is to drink a lot of
coffee and maximinze the number of following cups....
