I agree, I love cars that have a life of their own. When I sold my MGB it
went to a father and his 15 year old son. They striped it down to the frame
and then back during his 15th year and it became his at 16.
Loved it

Congratulations. Nice article. My wife and I drove a good portion of
66 a year and a half ago. We took a week and a half towing our 5th
wheel from Chicago to Tulsa. Then we had to get home. So we got back
on the freeway, 2-1/2 days from Tulsa to Orange County, CA. It was a
lot of fun. We stopped at a lot of museums, talked to a lot of people,
and took a lot of pictures. We are anxious to finish the trip.

Sounds like an awesome ride. I had the chance to do about 250 miles of
Route 66 with Albuquerque as my base 3 years ago.

Nice piece, Brett. I love old 66 - I hitch-hiked most of it in the late
50's as a college kid and drove all of it before the interstate system
overlaid most of it. It was my escape route from northwest Arkansas to
Chicago and my spring vacation getaway road. Ate lots of chicken-fried
steak and drank loads of incredibly bad 10-cent-free-refill coffee all along
it. No Porsches, though ...
