Topic: I'm Stunned (8 msgs / 155 lines)
1) From: Coffee
I got my coffee roaster for Christmas (Gene Cafe -- sorry, before I
knew about SM) and I've been working through the sample coffee that
was included with the roaster. There have been some good coffees, all
better than anything I've had elsewhere (except a couple that were
pilot error). I've had a few shots of Espresso Monkey since roasting
it properly and it is quite good, although I'm still developing my
barista skills.
I bought a sampler from SM and this last weekend I roasted my first SM
bean, Indonesia Flores - Bajawa Highlands and tried it this morning.
All I can say is I'm stunned. This is the best coffee I've ever had.
It is remarkably better than any of the beens from the other guys. I
think I'm beginning to understand the passion that Tom and Sweet
Maria's evokes in all of you.
So, thank you everyone for your help and encouragement. And anyone out
there who is stuck with other peoples beans, your probably better off
just dumping them and getting some from Sweet Maria's.

On unwrapping my new Espresso Machine 2 or 3 years ago. I remember me and
miKe throwing the 5 pounds of beans that came with the machine in the
garbage without even a thought. We were so excited to plug that puppy into
the wall. We never even considered grinding up some of the coffee to try it.
Remember miKe?

We pulled some great shots that day. Still trying to get my wife to retire
to Oregon and consider The Dalles. She is finally relenting a bit and
talking about moving to the shore like around Lincoln City or something in 2
years. It's always next year and next year. Now it's definately in 2 years.
May get there by my 100th birthday.

I agree...i have roasted and drank plenty of columbian...but never was impressed with it. The colombian antioquio from SM was incredble.
