Topic: Need roast profile for Monkey blend please....(SC/TO) (93 lines)
1) From: Ron Feroni
I just recently bought my first espresso machine(quickmill Anita)and have s=
ome Monkey being delivered today. Does someone have a profile there pretty=
happy with? I use an SC/TO setup.
 =
FWIW, my roasting needs a lot of work. For the last two years(started with=
a popper) I just threw the beans in, turned the heat on, let it clear firs=
t and then finished the roast when ever I felt like stopping it. I've been=
trying recently(Well, two roasts worth anyway) to adhere to the 'general' =
rules of roasting(I say that with a grain of salt). 1-4min drying time, 4-=
8min ramp up for first,8-11min between start of first and end of roast. Av=
erage roast times around 11-14 minutes depending. SC/TO is not the easiest=
 thing to control heat on.
 =
I'd like to be able to get a decent roast out of these beans so I can work =
with the Anita. Having never pulled shots before and only having ordered a=
lb. when I got the machine just ain't cutting it. Not even sure what a gr=
and shot of espresso tastes like. Hope it's nothing I've pulled or I'm in =
trouble! I was using Black Pearl FWIW. It brewed up some killer press pot=
 though....
 =
So hopefully I can get a decent roast out of the Monkey and work on pulling=
 a decent shot. =
