I was ready for a shot when I came home from work today, and managed to resist the temptation to use Mike's Ohana blend, as it's only on 4 days rest (quick shipping to MA, too).
So, I used up the last bit of some Brazil Moreninha Formosa, which was about 8 grams, and filled the rest of it in with India Mysore Nuggets, making about a 50/50 blend for a 17 gr shot. Both were on 10 days rest, roasted with HG/DB to a FC, with little to no oil showing.
Pulled a 2 oz, 28 second shot at 95 degrees into a Bodum shot glass. Crema was about 90% initially, with a good amount of Guinnessing (clear shot glasses are great fun). I let it settle a little, and took a sip, and it was amazing. I'm not going to call it a god shot, but maybe some lesser deity was involved.
The taste is a deep dark semi-sweet chocolate, with a bit of nut (peanut?), and a caramel finish, too, which I can still taste. Not much going on in the fruit department, but with those two beans, I kind of expected the chocolate bomb.
Unfortunately, that was the last of that Brazilian for me, or I might have intentionally blended these again. In any case, a good, if not completely intentional, end to the work day.
