Topic: OT: Biscotti, Decaf Trade (15 msgs / 246 lines)
1) From: Lynne
Well, Murphy's up to his old tricks with his stupid law. My Border Collie,
seizure-prone Emma is going to need meds & possibly more testing (her
current tests came back indicating possibly pancreatitis), and with that,
and with my son's decision to possibly move out - makes me realize I need to
be as miserly (not miserable, lol) as usual. sigh... Seems I'm always
dancing the two steps forward, one step dance...
Anyway, since my stress level & BP is back up there (and w/other health
issues), I need to at least reduce the caffeine intake to lessen the chances
of me ending up in the hospital. It's either the decaf, or I stop drinking -
gasp - coffee completely. The caffeine is only adding to my general, all
around feeling like I could be peeled from the ceiling, esp. after this
week...
Was wondering if anyone would like to have a trade - a box of my homemade
biscotti (any flavor you like) for some SM's decaf beans. I'd trade reg.
beans for the decaf, but I don't have much left.
If anyone is interested, drop me a note.
Lynne

- and praying she doesn't get bad news!)

Lynne,
Isn't it the truth about Murphy's law! I dared to plan a vacation, baought tickets to the coast and then my dog went to the vet. Kidney failure and three days in doggy hospital! Although I'm afraid of the vet bill, I am glad to bring him home today.

Let me go through my decaf stash and put together a sampler for you.
As to biscotti, how about "baker's choice?"

Lynne,
I'm happy to help you out! You'd also be helping me out, since I have much too
large a stash of decaf, but with a nice variety to choose from! I'd love some
of those biscotti, but since I'm trying to get my weight down, I'm willing to
give you a great deal on the decaf/biscotti ratio! Interested?

Sandy, that sounds great! Just let me know if there are any flavors you
hate.
(I'll save the sardine flavored for doggie or kitty biscotti...haha!)

Absolutely! Sounds good to me (but I have to tell you - my biscotti are
pretty low-fat/don't
use any oil or butter... or as my Italian relatives used to say, "Here, eat,
EAT-you're too thin!"

How is he doing? (and make sure you are sitting down when you get that vet
bill!) My problem (and it's really been causing my own hypertension problem
to get worse) is that I can't get any vet to budget the costs. Not giving
up, though, and I have a week off from my college classes (sort of - two
days I'll be doing work-study, & I have lots of assignments, lol) so I'm
hoping to make some progress w/phone calls. So far, I basically don't have a
vet & she's not on any meds - yet. Everyone I call wants money up front -
the local one told me that they could only budget their office visit, but
since the blood work was sent out, I'd have to pay out of pocket.
Of course, when I came in to get the blood sample to send to a specialist in
CA (who charges less, btw) they were pissed - and argued w/me about billing
me for the office visit. (the vet also either lied to me or is the stupidest
vet in the world - told me that the ONLY dog food recalled last year
[ingredients imported fr. China] was pouch food!! She must think I'm an
idiot.. there goes the BP again.. grrrr)
Sorry for rambling on - this is so frustrating! ANYWAY - my intention was to
tell you that I hope your pooch is doing well - and that, hopefully, at some
point, you get to go on a vacation!

Lynne,
I guess I'll just have to throw more decaf in to get more biscotti!
Tomorrow, I'll put together a list of my decaf stash, and we can work out
details.
