Topic: A Cheer for the Fresh Roast (2 msgs / 78 lines)
1) From: Paul Jolly
I've been a die-hard Poppery roaster since I
started home roasting a little over a year ago.
I looked down my snobbish nose at those who roast
with HWPs and Alpenrosts...okay, so maybe I did
have several pangs of envy, but no more! I have
seen the light--or should I say, I've seen one of
the many lights in this great hobby.
To be more specific, I received a Fresh Roast
roaster for Hanuka. As the only coffee drinker
in the house, I love the small batch size: I can
try more beans more quickly than before! I've
found that my personal sweet spot (about 45
seconds into 2nd crack) takes around six minutes.
The brews are wonderful. I give three cheers
for this "inexpensive" roaster. I haven't given
up on my Poppery, bless it's soul, but I am
enjoying this little machine.

I agree...it's a great little roaster....my HWP doesn't have a happy
look on its face, however, as it has been relegated to the cabinet,
perhaps permanently.
