Topic: Coffee shops in Chicago --- and East Bay? (4 msgs / 67 lines)

Metropolis (http://www.metropoliscoffee.com/)is the other indie roaster
here that gets some attention. Its cafe is a little further north than
Intelli's north side location.
And East Bay people have a good shop to recommend. I am driving from the
San Jose airport to Santa Rosa and want to find a gool place to stop.

If you are at the San Jose Airport, you aren't too far away from Barefoot
Coffee Roasters http://barefootcoffeeroasters.com/). It's probably worth
stopping in there if you have the time.
Additionally, EspressoMap.com (www.espressomap.com) suggests Flying Goat in
Santa Rosa.

You can also try pacific bay roasters in walnut creek. I had a pretty
good espresso in there. They are a microroaster. I have a pound of
their beans here which (although not as good as Black Cat) aren't too
shabby.

Bill,
If you do stop at Barefoot in Santa Clara, I would recommend *not* driving
up from the East Bay side, but go up through San Francisco where there are a
number of interesting coffee shops. You could go to the infamous Blue
Bottle Coffee with the Japenese siphoning system, www.bluebottlecoffee.net.
Brian Zambrano posted photos of the place. I have never been there, but it
sounds fantastic.http://flickr.com/photos/brz/sets/72157603825714940/I live in Santa Rosa, and I do love Flying Goat. Drop me an off list email,
let me know when you expect to be in Santa Rosa. Maybe you can stop by and
see my coffee setup, have a cup, give me some pointers, or we can perhaps
meet at Flying Goat. Let me know if you need any other Santa Rosa info!
