I think I missed part of your question, Ron. The beans do the forcing - =
the outgassing the beans do is enough pressure to exit the bag through =
the valve. Here's another experiment - If you have any of the bags, fill =
one with fresh roasted beans, and using a vacuum hose or your mouth suck =
out as much as you can through the valve. Then let the bag sit for a =
couple days. Even over night the bag will puff up with carbon dioxide.
I just thought of this - Ever notice none of the valved bags of coffee =
at the grocery are puffed up? I'm guessing it's because they're not =
fresh roasted beans.
You can buy the bags from Tom. =http://www.sweetmarias.com/prod.bags.shtmland you can keep your beans =
in them.

just by how the one looked that I took apart, but oxygen isn't being 'forc=
ed' while the beans are just sitting on the counter. It's just 'there' in =
the air is it not? What I mean is I can see how FORCING air from the outsi=
de in will not work, but the air isn't being forced. Make sense?

I seem to get this funk smell from keeping them sealed in mason jars(I use =
the plastic lids, not the metal rings/bands).> > > > I was contemplating pu=
