Topic: Brett's digression (10 msgs / 211 lines)
1) From: Jim Gundlach
Brett would have you believe that the record setting ice and snow in
parts of the world refutes the idea that the earth is getting warmer.
He is wrong. The additional heat in the system as a whole is
predicted to produce more record low as well as high temperatures and
record breaking precipitation as well as record breaking droughts.
This is not OT because this affects the life support system of coffee
trees, coffee growers, coffee processors, and coffee consumers from
the lowly luwak to us.

Yeah and all this global warming bull is to suppport the carbon tax the UN
wants to inpose on the world so they might further their goal of so-called
sustainable development which can be translated into "control" of our lives
and more money in their pockets. It' all about "control". So...wake up to
it now - or wake up to it later. We shouldn't follow like sheep. We should

Guys, I know I'm new around here but can we keep the global warming
discussion private? I get enough of that every freakin' where else.
All it does is cause belligerance and anger.
Please.

we have gone on about this subject before.
i reiterate, the single biggest factor in what drives the earths weather
is not human activities but the Sun. we have no control there.
next volcanoes are the biggest source of atmospheric contaminates. again
no control. then the wobble in the earth's axial tilt. carbon from
human sources are the least of the problems.

Do I hear the black helicopters off in the distance? Sheesh--if the
UN had it together enough to engage in a conspiracy to finance itself
(to do what, exactly?), it'd have made much more of a mark on the
world instead of largely being laughed at by the worst offenders among
the nations it's tried to police! I have to shake my head over those
who feel the right to do whatever they want with their money and
property without regard to its impact on anyone else (i.e., to be able
to swing their fists regardless of how many noses get punched) trumps
the right of future generations to enjoy the same planet our ancestors
handed down to us, as well as those who equate taxation with the work
of the Devil.

Oh boy the moonbats are out with the global warming again. wow and I
didnt even start the arguement this time.
Ill start worrying about curtailing my lifestyle when the biggerst
perpetuator of this warming LIE, our good buddy Owl Gore, starts
practicing the sewage he preaches and curbs his own energy use in that
huge house of his. Oh but wait, it's about making the rest of the
folks do what you want, ... You just gotta love how these folks demand
that you change your lifestyles immediately yet won't do so themselves
and are the biggest wasters of all.
It's all BS and politics. I say we ship them all off to Berkley or some
other communist country and let them do what they want over there.
I say this again, for those on this list who are truly worried about
global warming, STOP your homeroasting NOW. Roasting the beans emits
CO2, the deadly global warming gas, and coffee is NOT vital to life....
quit being hypocrites make a sacrifice yourself and start practicing
what you preach....... I won't hold my breath .

I certainly don't want to get into a political discussion here,
though they are always fun to read from a great great distance. BUT I
think people, like coffee, wood products, etc are basically carbon
neutral. I don't know exactly what the fancy definition of that is,
but what I mean is that it gives back what it takes (and vice versa)
in a reasonable amount of time. I'm prepared to be dead wrong on that
though: by my definition, cows are carbon neutral, though their
flatulence is supposed to be a very serious environmental concern.
