I truly appreciate everybody's input on the throwdown. I use various brew methods and found my unscientific results to be similar to those who participated: FP for big body. Moka for body and bang. VP for severe clear. AP for moderate body. Pour over for middle of the road. Vietnamese dripper for oddity. Etc. I have another similar question that I have philosophized about much: there is an appropriate cup for each type of coffee. For example, I think we'd all rather drink espresso from a nice porcelain Illy espresso cup than from a d*mn paper cup like *$ gives you. Why drink the essence of coffee from a stupid paper cup? I drink mostly FP at home and I swear by the hair of my chin that I have a cup that will make coffee taste better than ordinary cups. I have lots of good cups, but my *& Barista (I know...irony) stainless travel mug makes the coffee taste better. My hunch is that the insulated covered cup lets the coffee cool at a nice slow rate that brings out the flavors. When I drink IMV at C+ in there it just sings like a bluebird in spring. However, if I drink it in a plain open uninsulated porcelain coffee cup, the IMV flattens out some. As coffee sages, I respect your opinions, even if they don't agree with mine. So how about a coffee cup throwdown? It would be pretty easy to do actually. Ivan Homeroasters of the world Unite! You have nothing to lose but your char'dbucks. I really like the Bodum Pavina 9 ounce double walled glass cups. I like the idea of a glass cup and the coffee looks really cool, like it's suspended. I also have the small ones for espresso. The coffee stays hot a little longer than a typical mug as well. -Peter On Mar 30, 2008, at 2:02 PM, sci wrote: <Snip> Homeroast mailing list Homeroasthttp://www.homeroasting.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemIdx20">http://lists.sweetmariascoffee.com/listinfo.cgi/homeroast-sweetmariascoffee.comHomeroast community pictures 9upload yours!) :http://www.homeroasting.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemIdx20 |
