I can only hypothesize that is has caffeine in very low ammount. I
will try to look up the caffeine content of the other parts of the
coffee shrub (it has caffeine throughout. The reason the plant has
caffeine is as a natural defence against insects, not so we could
enjoy it's stimulating effects!) I have seen a caffeine analysis of
the leaf, but can't remember the number. Caffeine is concentrated in
the seed, and I do not theink the skin of the fruit shares this level
of concentration. As anecdotal evidence, I feel no effect from the
tea, and have had it at night when I do not drink coffee....
