Topic: Chaff tray Behmor (10 msgs / 154 lines)
1) From: Barry Luterman
Got my new Behmor yesterday. It worked beautifully Did 2 one half pound
roasts of IMV. The roast looks great. It is resting now. Had a difficult
time grasping the chaff collector tray with my finger tips to get it out. I
used a spatulla under the tray and it came right out. Thought I might share
if anyone is having the same problem.

What happened to the wire bail that is (supposed to be) on the chaff
collector?

Mine doesn't seem to have one. No wonder I need a spatula.

When I got my Behmor months ago I kept forgetting to put the chaff protector in and would have to stop the roast to get it in there. Then I just let it roast without it and haven't used it since. Much better view of the tumbling beans, of course, and I still get great roasts. Because I use it in a shop that's easy to clean up, the chaff that blows out onto the cement floor doesn't bother me.

I have a small handle that I pull up and then pull out the
tray. Perhaps it fell off in shipping.

Sent an e-mail to Joe. Knowing him he will probably call within a half hour
and ship the handle immediately.

Knew it. It didn't take half of an hour Joe called and handle is on it's
way. The man and the product are amazing.

I got it as a back up and against the fact if I moved back to the mainland
and had to roast indoors. However after just 2 roasts I think it might be
more than just a backup.
