Topic: One Cup Too Far - a new Tradition (37 lines)
1) From: Kris McN
Hey All,
A month or so ago, I happened on a Poppery I at one of my local thrift
stops. What a hoot! Toss in 4 oz. of beans, turn it on, listen, pull about
6 minutes later. I've been enjoying roasting little batches along side
bigger batches in my Behmor (though not at the same time as my garage
circuit can't handle the load - I found out the hard way) then comparing the
differences in flavor between the two methods. I'm having a blast! It's
caused me to roast more varieties of beans each week because I'm curious, so
I have LOTS of coffee waiting to be brewed these days. I'm drinking more
than usual and my moka pot is working overtime! As a consequence I'm a bit
over-caffeinated. Well, more than a bit. At the moment I'm a little
jittery and feeling mildly euphoric. I want to share the love a little bit,
so I'm offering up a nice little moka pot I acquired recently. It's 18/8
stainless steel with a gold handle and knob (looks like this, though not
exactly:http://www.kasbahouse.com/espressostovetops.asp(scroll down)).
It's never been used as far as I can tell, and even has a couple of
replacement gaskets with it. It's a little one, 4 tasse, good for one
person, or if you just want to give it a try. I'll throw in a couple of
packets of the bean du jour roasted in the Poppery and the Behmor, so you
can join the comparison-fest. Maybe if I'm feeling ambitious this weekend,
and it's not raining, I'll add a HG/BrM batch to the mix.
So, if you want to be included in this drawing, email me off-list (
krismcn). I'll collect names until 3pm PDT Sunday, come up with
some drawing method, and ship off a box to the winner Monday.
Come join the fun!
