Hey Dennis, when you get to GITMO what are you going to be roasting with? If
you roast some YEMEN beans there, you might cause a riot!
I am prepared to send the good stuff if you can't roast there...

Thanks Bob I'm thinking I'll be roasting with a Behmor but it may take
me a little while to get settled I'll let you and the list know what is
going on
as of right now I'll be in Gulfport MS for a week then 3 weeks in Fort
Lewis WA then off to GITMO for a year. so it may take me a little time
to start roasting.
Thanks for the offer I may take you up on that,

The weather in Gitmo is hot and humid. I can think of no other place I
would rather no be. The USN used, and maybe still does run training
exercises out of there.
If you survive a year there they should give you your Chief hat for the
demonstrated endurance.

i was in Gitmo on a newly commissioned ship, the USS Kalamazoo AOR6.
we went there for our first reptra training.
as a EM2 i stood quarterdeck watch in port. i remember it being hot and
humid. one good thing tho we were allowed to use the Navy Supple system
to buy personal item such as tools, needless to say i stocked up.
right now i am stuck for the name of were we were allowed to go. but it
was the place you could take a 1348 req form and use the cash value to
get what you needed for your shop. but we were allowed to use cash to
buy for you own use. the only place in the Navy i had heard that
allowed this , because it was so isolated.

Dennis can take on my other hobby - SCUBA. I got out of the USMC for a few
years and owned and ran a SCUBA retail facility in Boynton Beach FL for 5
years until 2000...
Diving in Gitmo is reported to be outstanding - that from a number of
sources.
Coffee and SCUBA go well together! Just don't roast where you are filling
tanks! Man the buzz....

On the upside, now you don't have to go to Canada to get Cuban
greens.
be safe

Dennis,
Gulfport is 5 minutes from my house! When are your going to be in
Gulfport? Perhaps we can get together for coffee ...
