Topic: Thursday AM cup (3 msgs / 77 lines)
1) From: Vicki Smith
I roasted the Colombia Huila - Las Piedras de San Augustin on Sunday,
had it for the first time yesterday, and again today. What a difference
a day makes! The body truly came in this AM and the fruited notes at the
end make this a very juicy cup. Chalk one up for pear.
I originally roasted this as a crowd pleaser for a party being given in
my honour this afternoon as I move from one job to another (same agency,
different position). I'm thinking I have a winner.
Although I have been roasting for awhile now, this is the first
Colombian for me. When I first began, I got hooked by the Africans, but
this year, my goal was to expand my horizons a bit.

Well, it's an afternoon cup, but I'm drinking a 60% Mandheling, 40% Yirga
Cheffe Konga mix. Just a little shy of 3 days old, and the lemony-ness of
the Yirg still hasn't come out... I'm hoping it makes an appearance soon!
There's just a shade of citrus and acidity, but not much... so here's to
hoping! But a great cup of coffee tasting coffee!bill

I had a FP of volcanic san marcos guatemalan at a City roast, and a double espresso of El Salvadorean Matapala which I roasted last night to a City plus...very very nice....balanced, nuts, cocoa.
