FWIW when I saw Tom's post the other day I didn't know what it was about and
thought Tom had removed the original post. However, I just now went to clean
out my spam filter and there was Len's original post. Perhaps whatever
triggered my spam filter is what triggered Tom's reaction.

I know what they are more or less. The concept is a drumm inside of a
Ronco style BBQ oven. Joe Behm told me that he had a patton for the
drumm that is used in the Ronco oven. So I am not sure if this
javaPRO thing is using the drumm that Joe Behm designed or if it is
something else this guy just came up with.
<Snip>
that Joe makes, but it looks like a bit larger more commercial version
of the same thing.
I've read some review of people that have roasted in a Ronco type of
oven (don't think it was a java pro, just a Ronco with a drumm) and
when it was setup properly, with the element close enough to the
drumm, they said it worked.
I don't know much more than that...

Provider, I don't believe that he responded to his own message.
I've looked at the original message that was posted by: sci
, (who appears to post quite frequently on this
list) as well as the message posted by "Len".
I do not believe that the messages were sent from the same person or
from the same network, and my best guess is that they are not forged.
Floyd; best I can tell there was a conversation started by "sci" and
Len sent the reply message about 2 days later.
I am offering no opinion on the appropriateness of the message, just
my technical observations.

This is Tom's site. He is from my experience one of if not the most
honest and fair businessmen I've ever had the pleasure to do business
with. I find no reason to question or discuss his decision. Even if he
made a mistake I would trust that he would realize it himself and
correct a situation and doesn't need our help to do so. just my 2
cents

Unless sci is also Len under another name, then he
didn't post the original inquiry about the javapro - he only
responded to it. Sci asked the original question.
But as many people pointed out, yes, it is Tom's list and he can do
as he seems fit. It just didn't seem any more egregious of a post
(from Len) than Ron talking about the RK drum or Les talking about
Thor Tampers.

I think whoever asked the original question was wanting an informed
and objective evaluation by someone on the list who had tried the
roaster. For someone who has an economic interest to come in and
offer to answer questions seems to be a bit out of the spirit of the
list. I think this is different from the lists history with the
Bemor, Ron's drums, or Thor Tampers.

request to be on the list as professional courtesy. I think that's the

I refrain from commenting on the RK drum as I stated in a few emails that
enough people on the list that own the drum can do so. I was told that I
should respond since who would know more about it then me, but only on a
rare occasion do I answer questions about the RK, and only to answers
roasting questions not to promote the drum itself.
I don't use a signature or post urls to my site as courtesy to Tom.
I use a generic email for the list.
This is not a commercial list and I respect that.
