Topic: A problem roasting this weekend (7 msgs / 157 lines)

I had a bit of a problem roasting this weekend!
Our 1st floor is being remodeled (no kitchen since Feb. 4) and one of
the improvements is a roasting area incorporated into the new 1st
floor laundry room. I've been storing my green beans in one of the
new cabinets, but roasting in the Behmor out in the garage until the
counter top and vent hood are installed.
The new vent hood was put in place Friday, HOWEVER - the hood
placement prevented my opening the adjacent cabinet more than 1/2
inch. I was able to stick a couple of fingers in the gap and grip
the corner of a bag of Yemen Sana'ani greens. Fortunately the bag
wasn't full, so I was able to wiggle it out.
UNFORTUNATELY, both my Behmor drums are also in that cabinet!
After a bit of excavating in the garage, I dug up my old cracked,
partially melted 'wb' roasters and roasted some beans.
This struggle should be worth at least a few CAS points.

Dave, I'm sorry for the inconvenience of having your gear "locked up" =
that way. Any chance the carpenter/installer will be out to fix things?
On the flip side, congratulations on your own little roasterie in the =
house! I wasn't the least bit interested in moving around, beans, scales =
or whatever may be involved, so I set up what's now called "The roasting =
room" in the basement with an exhaust fan and the works. So I have my =
own little roasterie and I love it - I walk in, turn on the lights and =
go to work. You'll be delighted, I'm sure once your set up is up and =
running.

My wife already emailed the contractor Saturday, so I suspect the
problem is likely to be corrected very soon. They aren't finished
with the project anyway.
The laundry room/roasting room is also the room where the Chihuahuas
will stay at night. Since I do the laundry and coffee roasting, I
reckon I'll spend lots of time in the 'dog house' when the project is
finished.
I'll definitely be in the 'dog house' if I don't have the coffee ready
in the AM when Cindy gets out of the shower!. Of course, I always
get the first cup!.

The contractor definitely read my wife's email! When I got home
tonight, the cabinet door was open, so now I again have access to my
beans, scale and Behmor drums.
There's still 'a bit of reworking' to be done, because now the vent
hood prevents the cabinet door from closing! But at least I can use
the Behmor tonight.
