Ethiopia Kochere District Yirgacheffe - incredible aroma, bright lemony taste with wild fruity notes. Roasted about as light as I ever go. I've been drinking Centrals and Konas for a while, so this was quite a change of pace, but delicious! It's long since gone from Tom's offerings, alas. Zara
Thanks for the reminder. This was a favorite of mine. I bought 5 lbs
and went through it pretty quickly. Your post led me to dig around in the
stash AND I found about a 1/2 lb remaining in the bag. I'm going to roast
it today for my enjoyment this next week. Happy Roasting. Josh

Dean De Crisce wrote:>its one of my favorite coffees along with centrals< I didn't think it was that great, until today. Last night I roasted my last 2 lbs of the Kochere as light as possible-turned off the heat in the grill (RK roasting) when 1st crack started, and opened the lid and let the drum spin in the breeze for a minute until the cracks stopped. Barely a city roast. This morning the cup is sweet lemon custard as a single origin espresso. Delicious! Charlie, I don't have an espresso machine, but I love the lemony flavor as it cools from the FP. Wow. At a certain point, the cup tastes like tea, no coffee flavor or aftertaste at all. It's totally wild. But I love that lemon flavor and how it develops as the cup cools. And yeah, I went real real light on it as well... great! bill in wyo On Mon, May 5, 2008 at 11:49 AM, Oaxaca Charlie wrote: <Snip> Homeroast mailing list Homeroasthttp://www.homeroasting.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemIdx20">http://lists.sweetmariascoffee.com/listinfo.cgi/homeroast-sweetmariascoffee.comHomeroast community pictures 9upload yours!) :http://www.homeroasting.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemIdx20 |
