RayO, What machine do you have? IIRC it's a low end thermoblock. Don't know of any low end models with a 3-way valve. "I suspect it didn't like my incessant flushes with a blind filter." NO machine without a 3-way should ever be backflushed or damage will likely ensue. As is likely you now know from direct experience... "...likely you now know from direct experience..." Yup- empirical idiots and their money are soon separated. At the rate, a Vetrano or Andreja Premie would have to last 20 years. I'd love every minute of it, learning all the way. "What machine do you [had]?" I was actually able to get some primo shots out of the Crapesso Espresso Luxe- $170 for 2 years' use isn't so bad, but it wusn't no learning machine. Well, yes, it was- $170 for an expresso machine that wasn't real is better than almost $200 for a Solis comical burr grinder only pretending to have real burrs. Kyle Anderson is the shining star that made me whole on the Solis deal, and their Automaton would at least sell me parts. Such is not the case with Crapesso. My List is not composed on a Magic Slate.
