Topic: Monday late morning cup (4 msgs / 85 lines)
1) From:
Today is the first lazy Monday I have had in months. I didn't get up until
almost 10 and while my machine was warming up I realized I had no Liquid
Amber or Malabar roasted. This fact led me discover the fact that an equal
mix of Misty Valley and Sumatra Blue Batak makes a quite nice Monday
cappuccino.

How coincidental! I found that I had equal parts of one day old Blue
Batak and two day old Misty Valley. I did not blend them, I have not
tried that yet, besides, I was feeling like a Misty Valley
morning. My first roast of either of these and I am please with
them. Though, can't wait until I can roast them again and work a bit
on the profile. But, for a fairly busy Monday, on my end, the Misty
Valley is a nice pace setter, reminding me that the day will be as
long as it is and I can work smart without having to kill myself.

Had some friends stop in this weekend and drink up most of my Harar... So
this morning I'm drinking a 2-week old Mandheling/Yirg blend. I was just
keeping this around before I ground it for the grounds bin at work... Glad
I have it.
Definitely a decent cup of coffee, but the 2 weeks have not been kind.
Muted flavors. Still warm, so I can't tell if I'm gonna get any acidity
from the Yirg... Anyway, an acceptable way to start the day, but I'll be
roasting this afternoon to take care of this lack of beans.
enjoy your day!

i too had a late morning cup.
power went out again, and my cup of coffee was at 4 am. woke up on the
couch, after falling asleep right after I began watching 'school of rock,'
w/jack black - woke up at the end of a different movie, lol - and it took me
forever to figure out how to get out up fr the couch w/only one hand. it has
no legs - long story - too low to the ground... got some [furniture legs] on
ebay, but fractured my elbow before i had a chance to replace them. by the
time i managed to stand up, took the dogs out the back, etc., i was too
awake to fall back to sleep..
anyway, power went out today, and i panicked - no coffee! actually, i made
some for my son, [power died RIGHT when I was heating more water..grrr] but
never got to heat enough water, and, greedy caffeine deprived kid - he drank
it all himself!
finally discovered an earlier cup i prepared, but never drank - then the
power went on, just as though the discovery was being accentuated by the
lights, hehe. funny, by the clock the power was only out for a little more
than an hour. seemed much longer...
still sipping this exilir - it's about half & half huila colombian [i'm
assuming - only had 'huila' in pencil written on the bag, and timior fto gr1
maubesse, roasted right after my inconvenient fall, 5/16, prepared in my
chemex.
smooth, delish. black, no need for cream w/this one. would like to duplicate
this!
