I believe that the Zojirushi recommendation came from a she, not a he,
John ;), although there was earlier talk from Peter about a
"keep-the-water-hot-all-the-time gizmo."
Glad to hear you are enjoying it so much.

that's a great brand, all around. been tempted to get one of their rice
cookers in the past [don't eat that much rice these days].
can you tell me what the interior is made of? can't find out online.
have been looking for a nice whistling tea kettle [i am slated to become the
non-teaching equivalent of an absent minded professor - and i *love* tea
kettles. good excuse], but the convenience of the zojirushi is tempting.

I'm still a newbe and wasn't too sure about the rules about brand
names at the time...
I still love my "keep-the-water-hot-all-the-time gizmo." aka
Zojirushi. I use it every day. for French Press, tea, I even start my
vac pot with hot water so it doesn't take so long. Because of it, I
use my French Presses and vac pot far more than I would otherwise.

peter -
out of respect for our hosts [and per the rules], we don't discuss
competitors, unless we get prior permission. more than die-hard rules is
that respect they've earned by their unique & esteemed business practices.
frankly, i've never seen a business like this - we tend to be quite loyal
because of this.
sm doesn't sell this, [yet - would be great if the added it].
now i didn't realize that they sell *any* water heating device.http://www.sweetmarias.com/prod.cupping-brewing.shtmlmy bad! hope this was ok to discuss... i would understand that john's
special circumstances would lead him appreciate the constant hot water
feature.

My understanding (and I am sure someone else will correct me if I am
wrong) is that it is fine to mention the names of equipment SM doesn't
sell, but not OK to link to Tom's competitors to illustrate what you are
talking about.
With that logic, linking to amazon for info about the Zojurushi would be
viewed differently than linking to BlahDeBlah Coffee Site (which carries
competing products as its reason for being).

It seems to me that we talk about espresso machines, brewers, etc that
SM doesn't sell with impunity. What we don't do is send people to
competing vendors (though linkage or by name) for those things or
anything else.
