The problem I have with hotel room brewers is the poor water temperature. By the time it drips into the carafe it seems way too cool for any brewing. So I bring a zelco as a waterboiler and use my AP to brew. An immersion heater would be even more compact, no doubt. My experience with the zelco is the basket is too small to make a good cup unless the volume made is tiny. The AP seems much more satisfying and efficient for coffee on the road.
