Topic: Change the damn burrs you moron! (3 msgs / 71 lines)
1) From: miKe mcKoffee
That would be me talking to myself. Have had replacement burrs on hand for 3
or 4 months. Seven months on the current set in my main Major. Of late shots
haven't been quite up to par, started to question my Ohana roast profiles
etc. CHANGE THE DAMN BURRS YOU MORON, IT'S BEEN SEVEN MONTHS ON THOSE BURRS
AND AROUND 700#'S!!!!
I flippin' know better, the manufacturer's rated life is for out to marginal
grind quality not good grind guality!!!!!!! Been harping on just that for
years! Self, listen to self!!!!!!!! This be your livelihood!!!!!! Damn I'm
dense sometimes. (And stretched too thin...)
Savoring the after taste of a quite delish shot after dialing 'er back in:-)
New group gaskets for the Linea too while as I was at it, been 5 months on
this set, again a bit too long meaning having to lock a bit too hard. (But
they were not hard as a brick and totally brittle as I've seen on really
neglected equipment;-)
Now to wrap up and head home.

Mike,
Stop being so hard on yourself! Thanks for sharing that you are human too!
I was behind on my cleaning routine, and had a similar conversation with
myself. Boy does the coffee taste better this week! Cleaned and inspected
my Major on Saturday. Coffee improved drastically on Sunday. I am at about
400 pounds on my set of burrs and I would say 100 of that has been espresso,
so they are still in great shape.

MiKe it's funny I usually take my lead from you. When you talk bout
cleaning or replacing something I realize I haven't done it as well
and wind up kicking myself. This time I replaced my burrs and reminded
you. Next thing I know you will take the training wheels off your PF
