Heh, I just "invented" this and all I can say is I really enjoy it!
T = Tablespoon, t = teaspoon
1 three shot AP brewed coffee. (I used my Sumatra/Columbian decaf mix)
1-2 T Dark Brown sugar (I use 1, but some may like it sweeter)
1/16 (half an 8th) t real vanilla extract
2-3 small sweet bananas, very ripe (I guess you could use 1 large
"normal" store banana)
1-2 T Dark Rum
Add these to blender and puree the banana.
Add 1 cup 2% milk and 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream, pulse blender to mix.
Add enough ice to make a smoothie of whatever consistency you like.
Enjoy! (These would make fine desserts for a grill out with a "touch"
more rum in them) ;-)
I think you could substitute Half and Half for the milk+heavy cream, but
have not tried it. You need the cream though, to sub for the butter in
I also think you could pour this into a mold and freeze it for a
different dessert, though again, I have not tried this. If I were to
freeze it, I would probably use 4% milk half and half with heavy cream,
and leave out the ice.
If anyone tries this as a frozen dessert, let me know how it turns out.
I like it so much as a drink, I can't put it away long enough to freeze
