Another Annual Pacific Northwest Home Roaster's Gathering has come and gone.
Thank-you all who attended and thanks all who helped with munchies. A few
who had planned to come had last minute "life challenges" and were missed.
Once again Alchemist John brought one of the dinner desserts. That would of
course be a beyond decadent Chocolate Alchemy flourless torte. If you are a
gourmet chocolate lover it's reason enough to plan on attending next year!
(I'm sure Alchemist will be making one again, it's become a requirement or
he doesn't make it through the door:-)

And talk about life challenges. I didn't even get to have any torte
as I needed to leave a bit early. Very unfair if I do say so.
It was fun. I am surprised by the lack of toys and 'playing'. Mine
was the only additional espresso machine and grinder there. It was
great showing people how to use it. It really drove home just how
many little things I take for granted on the machine (HX lever) and
just what it takes to show someone else how to drive it.
Thanks again Mike. And it was good seeing old and new faces.

Keep rubbing it in that I had to work this weekend. I think the guy who
scheduled me to work the weekend of the PNWG needs a good chewing out. I
have been chewing myself out for the last 5 days. The problem of being the
"boss" is the buck stops weith me.

I know what you mean... It's tough to beg for a raise, too. I always =
have to run from one side of the bosses desk to the other side to have =
my yearly evaluation.
IMV a tad over roasted this morning. Since I overshot City + I missed =
the full blueberry. It's still quite yummy, though.

ok- now I am depressed. I saw the note, thought "hey, maybe I'll fly
up for the day", clicked on the link and saw it was June 20, Sat,
went to book a flight, noticed that June 21 is sat, hmmm... went back
to mike's page, and noticed it was the 2009 date. so much for being
"mr. last minute".
sounds like it was great and I can't believe Mike can pull this off
and run the cafe - unbelievable really.

Tom,
You are of course MORE than welcome to pop up for a day any time!
Hosting a piece of cake. (Ok, BIG piece of cake and home recovery clean-up
is an extended process;-) My experience says if you NEED something done,
find the busiest person you know and if they agree to commit to it, consider
it done.)
