Looks like the Homeroast Wiki has been taken over by spammers. Check
out the Recent Changes section...

That one is different from the one that I'm referring too. Which one

The shrub one looks to be more active and up to date.http://www.coffeeshrub.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_PagePerhaps it is the one recently hit by spammers? Lots of "undo" in the
history.

If you click on the "Recent changes" link on the side-bar you'll see a
number of pages added about wooden hangers, bamboo floors etc. There
are spambots out there that troll around looking for wikis that are
unprotected, set up an account and add content. I imagine that's
what's going on here. For instance, in the search box type in "Omeoa".
They seem like random names, so I'm not sure what the point is.

Looks like Tom gets to learn more about the sysop's delete function.
I am sure this nonsense loads up resources, but am not seeing any way to get
to it except through "recent changes" or "random pages" options.

Yea, I don't really get it either. Not sure how anyone benefits unless
someone stumbles across a page and says to themselves, "I was just
thinking about bamboo floors, I think I'll check this out..." Still,
if there is something nefarious going on at the other side of these
links, it would be best to delete them.
Tom, I don't know if you want to trust outsiders, but I could clean it
up for you. We run a "MediaWiki" wiki at work, so I am familiar with
how it works. Perhaps there are others on the list, as well, who
wouldn't mind being janitors. ;-)

14) From: Tom & Maria - Sweet Maria's Coffee
Thanks guys - I deleted all the junk. not much really ... anyway, I
really want to get back to the Wiki but the main issue was I couldn't
find any easy way to translate HTML pages into MediaWiki format. The
goal was to start with a core group of pages based on all my tips
sheets and reviews, then allow improvement by the community. The
pages would, essentially, have a backup in the form of our HTML but I
could see certain info being greatly improved by the wiki method.
Anyway, being in the middle of the Central arrival season, and so
much else going on, I am not sure I will get back to it until things
simmer down a bit. It will happen... eventually. Mediawiki is
powerful, but difficult to administer too ... might look at other
options...
