Perhaps you all can learn from my mistake....
My youngest turned 13 yesterday and had a sleepover Friday night. When I
got up to go to my part time job at the world's largest retailer at a few
minutes before 6 this morning there was 5 girls sleeping in my living room.
My wife said what ever you do don't make coffee and wake them up. I got a
full day ahead of me, I haven't had nearly enough sleep and I have 4 day old
Moka Kadir screaming to be pulled. Being an obedient husband I walked past
the beans and the Gaggia Grinder and Espresso machine and head out the door
coffeeless...
My first stop before work was my local coffee shop. It is a regional chain
that used to be called beaners but they recently spent over a million
dollars changing all of their signs, cups and what not changing their name
to Bigby beause they felt beaners might offend the Hispanic community-I am
now complaining to them because Bigby is offensive to us overweight folks
and I am pondering contacting cracker barrel on behalf of all anglos....but
that is another email.
Anyway beaners, or bigby was closed till 9 (Like that makes sense) so I
got a basic cappuccino at the golden arches.....man it was bad...real
bad.....
Next time I am turning on the grinder and waking them up...
Hope yours was better than mine...

My house, my grinder, my coffee. I like it. There will be fresh good
coffee in the AM, no exceptions.

David,
Truly one of the funniest posts I have ever read. Don't think I'll ever be
able to go to Cracker Barrel again without remembering your comments. And
BTW I think it takes a lot more db's than making coffee to wake a 13 year
old - something on the order of an m-80, for example.
Happy Weekend. - Bob Glasscock

Hi, I never usually reply here because my hubby is the expert and I
am just the grateful recipient of his talents. However, I had to
commiserate on the Mickey D's coffee. Have you ever drunk their iced
coffee? I had a coupon for a free one when it first came out and was
driving home really late and needed a "pick me up". I couldn't even
finish it! And I am VERY thrifty (Scottish), but I threw it out.

No way a grinder could wake up youngsters on a Saturday morning after a
sleep over. A chain saw or leaf blower, maybe!

a snip from David's post
snip:> My first stop before work was my local coffee shop.
there is nothing like home roast, but in all fairness I have produced some
really bad coffee at home from time to time, usually from being in a hurry
to get out of the house and off to work, and some from not paying attention
to my roasts, and missing my target.
I usually stop at BK if I need an on the road coffee, but nothing is as good
as our own home roasted coffee.
nice story

Depends on the young'uns.
If I get up early and they're still sleeping, I'll schlepp the whole
grinder into the basement and grind there. Okay, it's a small one, I
don't think I'd try this with my RR45....
