Has anyone seen this? If it works, one could make a combination business
of coffee shop AND a laundromat!http://www.home-barista.com/forums/ultimate-home-roaster-project-t3718.htmlHomeroast mailing list

I noticed this was posted on April 1st. Hmmm, I wonder if it's a true story.
I like the idea of adding a air conditioner to the washing machine for
cooling the beans.

Thats pretty funny, but I think I will stick with my RK setup. I
could move up to the 6 pound drum if I really needed a larger batch.
I can do 4 pounds right now. (never done more than 3 though). I just
don't see all that many flaws in my RK / grill setup. I've been told
once you get really good at using the RK setup you can get roasts very
comparable to a commercial roaster.

This sort of reminds me of a former list member, Wandering John, who
often talked of building a jet-engine/cememt-mixer roaster.
I wonder were John wandered off too.

I've occasionally wondered what happened to him also. I seem to
recall a series of health problems associated with periods of absence
from the list but they were usually announced. Then he seemed to just
disappear.

I seem to recall a woman on the list for a while who knew Wandering
John, and mentioned him a couple times, passed along greetings or
something along those lines.... Or, was that someone else?

Yeah, at least he has us RK drum users pegged rightly as "manly men", and
not "NASCAR fans" like the Heat-gun dog-bowl people.
;-)
If this story were true, I think the clothes-dryer roasters would be
trailer-trash-divorcees.....

Commercial roasters make Commercial Coffee. Fancy that- the goal is
Commercial Coffee from an RK drum roaster. That might rate having one's
brain beat out with a sack full of "coffee beans."
Don't nobody tell Ron.
I won't ever mention it- Ron might snatch his drum back before I learn how
to roast Commercial Coffee from Sweet Maria's green coffee beans. Good one.

I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm just an 'idea' man and not one to
do the production nuts and bolts. The 1.21 gigawatt, flux capacitor powered
coffee roaster will have to wait. The world is not ready for it.
