There is often on-topic and off-topic discussion of gadgets here on
the list. In case anyone might be interested, the link below is to a
clip of Jim Stafford playing a synthesizer guitar. He demonstrates
many of the sounds it can produce, including pipe organ:

I still play my Roland G700 synth with my G707 guitar. Mine is a black
beauty and that funny-looking (to most) graphite reinforcement makes the
neck extra stable and reduces unwanted resonance, dead spots and wolf tones.

Interesting insight about the graphite reinforcement. I have seen
those in the past and wondered what the story was behind them.

An interesting story I've heard from Tim Hoag, organist at the Atlantic City
Convention Hall organs in 1996, is that a rock music combo organized a
"sound off," if you will accept his definition.
25 or 26 amplified brass bands set up on the 500ft X 350ft auditorium floor
to challenge the world's largest organ, that comprised dozens of string,
brass, reed and woodwind voices, to a blowout. I guess the jolly rockers
never read the *Guiness Book of World Records* report, that stated the
Midmer Losh instrument was "Six times louder than the loudest locomotive
whistle." Imagine that in Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.
Even though 7 of the 8 organ chambers were silent due to damage or asbestos
contamination, the challengers got their comeuppance- Tim said "Blown away,"
even with the condition of the organ. Tim could sustain a
*sfortzando*equivalent to more than 5 million watts from the amplified
groups.
They all needed more coffee like this Steinway of FC+ Ethiopian Harar Green
Stripe! My Celtic Critic honey nearly swooned over yesterday's double shot
just after I roasted. It was the first time she ever drank the whole shot-
"Get your own-" while I was cleaning the Capresso Leaks.
Cheers, Mabuhay -RayO, aka Opa!
