Topic: The last cupping class was today at SM in Oakland, CA (25 lines)

First and foremost is a huge thanks to Tom, Derrik and Josh for taking the
time out of running the business to hold a great class. As previous
attendees have already said we got to learn the basics of the imperfect
science of cupping coffee. The highlight was Tom's cupping room upstairs. Oh
my god what a set up ! He's got beans EVERYWHERE! The Gesha was there on the
floor in vacuum bags, WOW! Funny though $100+ green beans looked like the
$6 stuff, that's were the cupping comes in. There was equipment of all sorts
and a new electric sample roaster. Does anybody know how to say "gas fired"
in German ? Sorry Tom, I couldn't resist. We got to cup several different
origins and Josh and Derrik's "special " cup, that turned out to be
America's favorite Robusta blend, FOLGERS! Yes that right, we cupped Folgers
at SM. You sure can tell the difference, they were enjoying our reactions to
the crap in cup # 5 especial when cup # 2 was the 4 star Colombia Buena
Vista . We all had a great time and the 12 of us came away with something
special from some very talented people, knowledge. Thanks again guys, it was
a great two hours. When is part 2 ?
